The Federal Inland Revenue Service has continued to clamp out on erring companies as it has shut down two companies in Ibadan, Oyo State over their non payment of taxes due.
The enforcement team of FIRS on Thursday locked up AOP Logistics Limited, Breweries Area in Ibadan over the company’s inability to pay up tax totaling a sum of N863,188,498.
The FIRS enforcement team also clarified that the gates of the company would not be opened until after the company has settled all its tax liabilities.
According to Premium Times, a staff of AOP Logistics stated that the company has been tax compliant and have made series of tax payments to the FIRS.
He however did not show proof of the payment made.
Markinfa International limited, New Ife Road Ibadan was also shut down due to tax default to the tune of N21,183,020.95. It was gathered that the staff of the company were ordered out of the company’s premises.
A management of the company told the FIRS team that the company had been unable to settle its liabilities due to the fact that operations had ceased in the company for some time.
This is not enough reasonable explanation to FIRS as it decided to shut down the Company.
